Statement

Light, color and the feeling of being there. This is what inspires me to create, and challenges me to recreate that within myself. It's not about just looking at a pretty picture. It's about being in it and the feelings that come up, and the emotions that take over. My medium of choice are oil pastels. I have been focused with them since 2010.  Some may ask why? And the answer is simple. It's because they fit me. I like the immediacy of them. I can simply walk into the studio, pick up a stick and get color down quickly. Capturing that moment and conveying the light. 

I work primarily out of my home studio in Portland, Oregon. and like to take my oil pastels on plein air outings around the local area. Chasing light and shadows. 

I'm very active on social media (instagram, youtube, patreon) in which I offer demonstrations, tutorials and try to help those who use oil pastels.
